Wedding Dress Shopping: Needle & Thread

Friday, 9 March 2018

I have had a mild Needle & Thread obsession for a while now, ever since I went along to one of their early new season showings in London, and got to see the craftsmanship firsthand. Hummina hummina, to say the least. Needle & Thread have since started doing bridal, and the collection is stunning. Quirky, original, a little left of centre, and real pretty. Ideal for the unconventional bride. Possibly the type that sports a pixie cut effortlessly? (Oh how I envy those women...)

You can buy online, here.

Beyond The Wedding: Life Lately

Thursday, 8 March 2018

A new F.R.I.E.N.D.S notebook by Central 23 that I tried really hard not to buy, but ultimately couldn't resist // My cat, looking mighty uncomfortable // My other cat, getting it right

An eggy working breakfast at Ezra & Gil // Trying to get into wearing my watch more. It helps that it's pretty // A Next Home lady vase filled with Valentine's flowers

WHEN will this country learn to deal with snow? So pretty but SO ANNOYING // Our youngest usher, chillin' with the groom. AKA his favourite person in the whole entire world // Fancy Marilyn loos in Bolton, of all places

Manchester Wedding Photographer: Pixies In The Cellar

Monday, 5 March 2018

Pixies In The Cellar are the first hit on Google when you type in 'Manchester Wedding Photographer,' so they're as good at SEO as they are at taking pictures. I absolutely adore their style - their documentary approach seems similar to my boy Damian (my own photographer, who I adore, and am very very very excited about) with a little more staging. A photo can speak a thousand words so there's not much more worth saying except... if you haven't chosen your camera people yet, these guys are worth a second look 📷😊

Bridezilla Thoughts That 100% Happen To All Of Us

Friday, 2 March 2018

1/ Why didn't 'x' run his/her outfit by me before buying? What colour is it? Is it white? No but seriously, is it anything close to white? Because if it is I'll scream

2/ Why is 'x' trying to steal my thunder? I knew this would happen. I bloody knew it. Is it OK to exclude them from a key moment to let them know whose boss? I don't care if it's not OK, I'm doing it. It's done.

3/ What do they mean they can't come? Don't they know this is the biggest day of OUR LIVES? Oh they already made plans, did they? Have they not heard of a RAIN CHECK???

4/ Can I invite an entire family within the family and exclude that one annoying cousin I CBA with? I can, can't I? It's worth the inevitable rift, isn't it?

6/ How dare they question my colour scheme/ choice in cake/ decor ideas. I'll kill them. I'm not joking. I am a woman on the edge.

7/ Can I choose the groomal party as well as the bridal party?

8/ If he keeps referring to our wedding as a party, he won't be getting an invite (...sneaky Friends reference there. My fiancé has not done this, he's smarter than that)

And I'm not even that stressed about wedding planning (I'm actually so relaxed my maid of honour keeps asking why I'm not more worked up). I can't imagine what the actual bridezillas are going through. Six months to go!

A Passive Aggressive Cake Topper

Thursday, 1 March 2018

I know a few women that have been with their partner's for a really long time, but don't yet have a ring on their finger. Some are fine with the status quo, some don't want to get married anyway, some get roaringly drunk at other people's weddings and say things like 'it's ok, i've accepted this will never happen for me' - one single tear making tracks on their cheek, as their would-be-groom asks other chaps nearby when they plan on making 'honest women' of their own girlfriend's. It's as awkward as it sounds.

For those brides out there that have had this long time to wait, I have found the perfect cake topper...

Nothing like making a passive aggressive point on your big day, amirite? How very British  😉
